Work Experience Opportunities in the Magistrates' Court
All Magistrates’ Courts within Victorian have a work experience program for students who are over 15 years of age. Work experience at the Magistrates’ Court is worthwhile if you are considering a career in the legal profession. You should contact the Senior Registrar of the Magistrates’ Court where you wish to do your work experience. Contact details are available in the Court Locations page of this website.
If you wish to participate in the Magistrates' Court Victoria work experience program, there are several things you will have to know and do.
Step 1: You will need to contact the court you wish to perform your work experience at, select one of the following links for contact details Metropolitan Courts or Country Victoria Courts, and find out if they have places available.
Step 2: After you have obtained a suitable date to perform your work experience from the court, you will need to fill in a Work Experience Arrangement Form and send this to the court. This can be downloaded from the weblink on the right of this page.
Step 3: The court will then complete its part of the Work Experience Arrangement form and then post it back to you so you can take it to your school principal who completes the appropriate section. A copy of the form must then be sent back to the court so your position can be secured.
